THE FOREST (`Zone5)
Ashdown Forest lends us its canopy and a seat around its campfire for another weekend. Zone 5, the wilderness, or the 'forest' in this case is a source of inspiration for sustainable design a bounty of resources and a place to chill.

SKILLS SHARE
For the Naturewise Woodland Weekend we gather together to share some woodland management, develop sustainable site infrastructure and to learn from nature the great teacher. We will be indulging in forest activities chosen by the Naturewise group, the owners of Windy Ridge Forest Estate and Wholewoods, with whom we share the teaching site. Whilst this is a guided event it is essentially a DIY weekend not a course. We will all work together to make things work out as nicely as possible, celebrating the wonder that is uncommodified human co-operation.

ACTIVITIES
Thursday eve Volunteers arrive for set-up
Friday aft/eve Everyone else arrives, pitch tents, food,campfire.
Sat Woodland activities. Our day to indulge in woodland work that gives some thing back to the forest for hosting us.
Sat eve Campfire party
Sun Self organised free day to enjoy the forest, hang out, sleep, chat, make tea, jam, visit other parts of the forest...etc
Monday Volunteers pack up and return home refreshed.
Evenings & stuff Dawn yoga. Campfire party; bring instruments, stories and jokes. Last season's charcoal making gave us a reason to burn the evil, invasive rhodedendrom (Victorian escapee). On Saturday night we'll do bbq. In the spirit of footprint reduction can we be comfortable in the woods having travelled lightly? Can our landfill waste fit into one small shopping bag at the end of the weekend?

NOT FOR PROFIT
This is a not for profit event. The money you give covers Naturewise expenses, tools, materials, food, fuel and admin, facilitator and assistant fees. Last sessions takings allowed us to buy; 3 welders gauntlets, 3 bill hooks, 1 tarp, 3 camp knives, 2 roles of sisal rope, 1 wheel barrow and a hefalump for future activities.
